We’re celebrating 40 years of business here at DTW - that’s right, we were founded in 1978! - so we’re looking back over some of the interior design trends we’ve loved over the years.
Among the avocado kitchens and the sickly peach bathroom suites, we discovered a collective love of colour in the ‘70s that has never really left us. If you grew up around that time, we’d bet good money that you hankered after pastel pink bathroom tiles accompanied by matching shag carpet. While that might not be the bathroom of your dreams today, we have some more contemporary options to share with you.
For a simple splash of colour, how about these zen ocean green wall tiles? This aqua shade will make a perfect soothing interlude for your kitchen splashback or bathroom. Or we offer several complementary colour options in the same style, so you can mix and match to create a personalised design.
If you’re into richer hues, we’d like to point you towards purple metro tiles. This sumptuous plum colour is sure to make even your bathroom sink feel luxurious and decadent. With a lighter grout choice, you can play with the texture of a bold feature wall or even add an accented border to a more neutral space. If purple’s not your jam, we have so many other metro tile shades on offer (including orange and lime green if you’re really digging the ‘70s vibe!) - take a look here.
How often do you see shabby chic referenced in interior design magazines? Well, we have the 70s to thank for the coining of that phrase and the rise in popularity of mix and match styles. Admittedly, it can be a tricky look to carry out if you haven’t got a designer’s eye, but we think that a patterned tile choice can make even the plainest of rooms pop. Some of our favourites are these Boulevard Grey Patterned Floor Tiles and our new stock of Blue Eternity Tiles. Check out our full range of patterned tiles here.
We have a huge range of colourful and patterned tiles, so why not take a look at our website - and remember you can order free samples online so you never have to buy without being sure what you’re getting.
Or pop into one of our showrooms to have a look at the range for yourself.
PS Have you entered our competition to win £400 worth of tiles yet? Simply pick a tile from our website and comment its name underneath one of our Facebook competition posts. The competition will close on Friday 18th May 2018 and we’ll pick a winner at random. So get choosing!
