Top Ten Tile Trends for 2019

Posted by Sally Thomas | Friday, December 14, 2018

We don’t know about you, but the New Year always gives us the urge to redecorate a room. Or two. Or three. Or all of them...

If you’re planning on refreshing your home over the next few months, we’ve peered into our crystal tile to bring you our top ten of the latest tile styles for 2019 to get you bang on trend with the latest interior design fashions.

Think bold, individual and unusual when it comes to choosing your tiles - here are our predictions accompanied by some savvy suggestions.

Tile Shapes for 2019

Geometric tiles

Geometric patterns never go out of style with their combination of clean lines and interesting shapes.

Unleash your inner creativity and make an individual mark on walls or floors, in large sections or small details. Try Balmoral, one of our most versatile tiles for a funky feature.

Hexagon/Honeycomb

Finding rectangles too run of the mill or squares too samey? We’re in love with the shape of honeycomb - especially these quirky and stylish Hexagon Mosaic tiles.

Get hexagonally happy by making a six-sided statement with an on-trend design that will always look interesting and stylish at the same time.

Long, narrow metro tiles

Keep on the straight and narrow in a good way with these Aria tiles, a longer cousin of the usual metro tile, to create a statement subway effect with a twist.

Go homely with horizontal, dare to go diagonal or venture into vertical. Which leads us on to….

Vertical tiling

The only way is up for 2019 with tiling being turned 90 degrees for a visually-appealing vertical effect. The classic Metro is the perfect candidate to see things in portrait.

Adding extra length in the pattern is great for shorter spaces to give the illusion of height in rooms that wish they were a little bit taller.

Tile Colours for 2019

Living Coral

We love the gorgeous peachy pink Living Coral, the Pantone colour of 2019. It's warm, cheerful and will work well with greys, browns and whites.

If that’s a little too bright for your room, try lighter orange or softer pink to add wonderfully warm hues that will still wow.

Moody deep green

Don’t be afraid of the dark – make your neighbours green with envy with gorgeous deep green tones in 2019, like these glamorous Provenza Tiles

This colour will look glorious used in small sections and paired with light tiles and/or paint to give a warm and striking effect.

Spiced honey

We can't get enough of the Dulux colour of the year ‘Spiced Honey’, a caramel tone with wood, sand and amber tones that will really spice up your life.

PATTERNED BACKSPLASHES

Whilst we love a simple, monochromatic kitchen, we like a little more conversation in the kitchen when it comes to splashbacks.

Go for a snazzier sink with a patterned backsplash, and the bolder the better in our book! These Regent Victorian tiles give you the chance to create a truly unique look.

Bold Black Bathrooms

Create a little black magic in the bathroom by going bold with black. This dark shade screams indulgence and high-end sophistication, and will give you the feel of an extravagant spa in your own home.

Add some contrast with white, bright or metallic furnishings or accessories, or choose tiles with a little sparkle, like these glittery Strauss floor tiles.

Light wood effect floors

Wood effect floor tiles give you the look of wood without the steeper price and higher maintenance of timber.

Light up any room with a softer shade such as these Grey Porcelain tiles to give a lighter effect you can balance by going heavier on the wall or furniture colours.
