When Joanne tagged us in her fabulous Instagram photos of her gorgeous greige kitchen diner and hallway, we simply had to share! We caught up with Joanne who lives in South Wales to find out more about her recent project.
Gorgeous Greige Kitchen
Thought I’d share the story of my gorgeous greige kitchen diner and hallway! We moved into our new build property in Summer 2021. We had paid for the developer to lay LVT click flooring throughout the hallway and kitchen/diner. Unfortunately, in true new build fashion, this flooring soon developed gaps and started to lift due to improper installation. Two years in we decided to take the leap and replace all of the faulty LVT with porcelain tiles for a modern, glossy finish.
Our home is contemporary and neutral. The aim was to achieve a bright, clean and modern look and after swooning over the shiny tiles on my favourite home accounts, I knew a polished finish was right. The search began for the perfect pale ‘greige’ tiles, not too grey, too beige, too small, too plain, too busy, just right. It’s fair to say I drove the family crazy ordering every sample from every online tile shop and asking them for their thoughts 24/7. Although we had tonnes of samples, we were keen to see tiles ‘in person’ before committing to the whole 34sqm for our greige kitchen diner and hallway.
Then we found Ben, our tiler, who pointed us in the direction of Direct Tile Warehouse and their Cardiff showroom. Less than 10 minutes in the showroom ended my three-month search for the perfect tile and we settled on the Scambio white, a very pale greige 1200×600 marble effect tile with subtle veining. The service was great from the showroom to the delivery. The tiles arrived within a couple of days, carefully packaged and handled. Delivery was also free, unlike many of the online tile stores we’d looked at. The price was very competitive for such large format tiles.
It’s fair to say we are in love with the finished look of our greige kitchen diner and hallway. The tiles are beautiful and of brilliant quality. I’d definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for great tiles at a great price. Thanks so much DTW!
