We love a room transformation here at Direct Tile Warehouse, and customer Hannah’s fantastic grey and white kitchen renovation project had us glued to Instagram for updates! We caught up with her to find out how she turned her kitchen from drab to delightful.

The property is an end-terrace, 2-bed in Newport and I’ve been renovating on a fairly tight budget over the last 3 years.

The existing kitchen was quite dated; I’d say it was last decorated in the early 2000s or maybe even the late 90s. Very beige with beige floor and wall tiles and beech cupboards. In fitting with the rest of the house I wanted it light and modern. I’m a real fan of the Nordic and Scandi vibes and thought a grey and white kitchen would be the perfect look.

Creating our Grey and White Kitchen

Choosing the tiles for our grey and white kitchen was the first thing I did. A quick Google search of local tile stores brought me to the Direct Tile Warehouse website. It didn’t take me long to find what I was looking for and I ordered a floor and wall sample.

Apart from being aesthetically pleasing the cost really was an issue for me so I had to find amazing tiles for both wall and floor that didn’t cost too much.

I chose the Calacatta White Gloss Floor Tiles with the grey vein design which gave a marble floor effect, which only cost £14.45 per square metre. The wall tiles were Fabulous Mini Bevelled Tiles – Pizarra in grey for £16.43 per square metre. As soon as I had a chat with my tiler regarding the quantities needed I headed to my local store in Cardiff to purchase the tiles for our grey and white kitchen.

The service was great and they recommended which colour tile grout to use which was super helpful because I hadn’t even considered it! I also had no idea how many shades there were to choose from so that was fun! I went for a darker grey grout on the floor (because who has got time to clean white grout especially when you have 2 dogs running about?) which matched the grey vein in the floor tiles.

I chose white for the wall tiles as these getting dirty wasn’t an issue and it looked perfect against the grey.

I’m so pleased with our finished grey and white kitchen, the floor and wall tiles are definitely the main attractions, and I’m constantly getting asked where they are from.  I would 100% use Direct Tile Warehouse in the future.
