It’s always worth taking your time to create the perfect outdoor space for warm summer days, al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. We are obsessed with Sophie’s beautiful grey patio renovation, featuring our striking Magma Anthracite tiles, and couldn’t wait to catch up with her to find out about her glorious garden.
We moved into our new build home back in December 2018. Whilst purchasing the house we decided not to have the garden slabbed and turfed as we knew we wanted a stylish and modern area to entertain. We invested time into making sure we had the perfect look and didn’t actually starting to plan our grey patio renovation until summer 2020!
Our garden isn’t the biggest but we wanted to make it feel as sleek and spacious as possible whilst bringing the outside in. We wanted to continue the theme from our indoor living space to our outdoor space by incorporating grey into our tiles. That being said we didn’t want the usual grey stone we knew we wanted something a little different and unique .
Finding the tiles for our grey patio renovation
Once we knew what we wanted and the type of tile we were after we started to look around. We looked at the usual websites but they never seemed to have what we wanted in our price range. We then found Direct Tile Warehouse, and were pleasantly surprised by the choice of tiles we had in our price range whilst still keeping the high standard we were after.
We ended up choosing the Magma Anthracite Grey Porcelain Tiles which were the perfect combination of grey with a twist. The flecks of white and darker grey made them stand out, and the price was even better.
I rang our local store to see if they had the amount we needed in stock before placing the order, I spoke to an extremely helpful customer assistant who ensured me they had plenty and answered all the questions I had. He also informed me that delivery would only take a few days which I was very pleasantly surprised at due to us needing the garden done rather quickly at this point. I placed the order on a Friday and they arrived on the following Tuesday, they were placed directly in our garden exactly where we needed them, and it took all of 10 minutes. I checked over all of the tiles and they were all in perfect condition ready to be laid.
Our garden was finished the following week and we were able to soak up all of the summer sun whilst admiring the tiles. We had managed to achieve everything we wanted from our grey patio renovation whilst keeping it looking sleek and stylish. We are yet to entertain but we can’t wait to have a grand opening when we can.
I would highly recommend using Direct Tile Warehouse. I have had a number of questions from a number of people on my Instagram account that have been interested in the tiles and have found some amazing deals. I would definitely use them for our next project.

Tiles ideas for a grey patio renovation
Grey outdoor tiles come in a variety of styles, sizes, shapes, and designs.
Choose from 20mm deep chunky tiles or classic quarry tiles for a more rustic look. Split face tiles will add a splash of excitement to your external walls, and modular tiles allow you to construct your own custom design. There are also wood effect grey outdoor tiles to recreate the look of wood at a fraction of the cost and with less maintenance.
