Rebekah’s Stunning Kitchen Diner Tiles

Kitchen Diner Tiles Customer Project

We absolutely adore the fresh and airy look customers Rebekah and Darren Hubbard from Dinas Powys, South Wales have created with kitchen diner tiles in their beautiful home. We caught up with Rebekah to find out all about it.

We moved into our Edwardian semi-detached in January 2019 knowing it would be our forever home. We planned to renovate every room in the house, but gradually due to time and money.

The kitchen and dining room were bottom of the list but as we lived in the house it was soon apparent that we needed to push these up the list and so they became our priority!

The kitchen and dining room were separate rooms and very dark and cold. We spent as little time as we could in there. We knocked a walk down between each room. Both spaces had external doors to the garden so the back door in the kitchen was blocked up halfway and the window extended to allow more light in.

The door from the dining room was taken out and the space was made bigger to allow for patio doors again to allow more light.

Finding the right kitchen diner tiles

Because the space was so dark our main goal was to make a light bright space. We knew the style of the kitchen cabinets we wanted but were unsure about the splashback and flooring.

We visited Direct Tile Warehouse one day because we spotted it as we were passing. Our kitchen project hadn’t started yet but we wanted to get some ideas and make some decisions on kitchen diner tiles. We received great advice and felt confident in their knowledge.

As soon as we had samples of our kitchen cabinets and worktops we returned to Direct Tile Warehouse to make some decisions. We chose and paid for our kitchen diner tiles and took some splashback tile ideas. In our previous house, we had a glass splashback and had considered this but the quote came back very pricey so we returned again to Direct Tile Warehouse and chose a classic white subway tile.

During the kitchen renovation, our builder recommended not to put back the old fireplace surround as it didn’t really suit the style we had chosen which gave us the idea to tile the chimney breast with a natural split face tile. We were surprised at how reasonably priced they were. Everyone comments on how effective they look!

We are very pleased with the overall effect. We didn’t visit any other tile retailers for ideas or prices as we were more than happy and impressed with the service and knowledge and will continue to recommend Direct Tile Warehouse. We will definitely return when we start our next project.
